Laughlin Air Force Base

Located just outside Del Rio, Laughlin Air Force Base is the largest pilot training base in the U.S. Air Force. The Texas Comptroller reported direct employment of nearly 4,000 individuals at the base in 2019. Of that total, more than 1,300 were civilians in various roles. The base contributed more than $2 billion to the Texas economy in 2019.
