Coming soon: Del Rio’s Business Incubator

The City of Del Rio Economic Development Department will launch its Business Incubator in the spring of 2022 as a support structure for area start-ups and entrepreneurs. The facility will serve as a central location to help entrepreneurs get their ideas off the ground and overcome the many challenges new businesses face, such as the lack of affordable rental space and the high cost or unavailability of advisory/facilitation services. Essentially, a business incubator strives to enhance a community’s entrepreneurial climate by nurturing the development of new businesses and providing them with business support services and resources vital to their success.

The incubator will consist of a co-working space for local entrepreneurs, startups and freelancers, as well as an entrepreneur resource center named Spark Lab, which will focus on building, launching and expanding businesses in Del Rio. Funding for the incubator was established in 2021 with a $25,000 Rural Business Development Grant to the City of DelRio, which the City matched.
